The existing student management system provided a simple accounting module that was used for all student enrolment invoicing . This accounting module was to be deprecated and all accounting functions moved to a centralised accounting system. An EAI platform was required to integrate the two oracle LOB systems which is where Microsoft BizTalk Server was proposed.

Required transaction processing time was 15 secs. Actual processing times ~5 secs on average.
